Microtechnology and Neural Networks

Ernst Kussul

rom November of 1998 till now he is Investigator titular “C”, T.C., coordinator of the Laboratory of Micromechanics and Mecatronics till 2007, (CI, CCADET, ICAT) UNAM, Mexico and now he is coordinator of the Group of Microtechnology and Neural Networks, ICAT, UNAM. The Dr. Kussul has PRIDE level “D” and level II in the National System of Investigators.

The Dr. Kussul is author of 16 patents in Mexico, exSoviet Union, Russia, Ukraine, USA. In Mexico in IMPI the Dr. Kussul has 6 patents (four with the UNAM y three together with the CINVESTAV, IPN), has 1 patent in USA and two patents in Spain, and 5 copyrights.

He is the author of more than 300 publications, 105 are articles in international jourmnals, 6 articles in nationals journals, 19 chapters of books, six books (two books of Springer), 90 internationals congresses, 59 national congresses, 16 patents, 5 copyrights.

The Dr. Kussul has more 2400 citations. He participated as responsible in 19 national and international projects. Till now has 19 technical reports in the UNAM, 2 reports with ICYTDF, 2 reports with SUEMA. The Dr. Kussul was invited to evaluate the projects of the CONACYT.

The Dr. Kussul is a member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences from 2008. The Dr. Kussul is Member of Mexican Academy of Technology from 2000.

The Dr. Kussul is Member of IEEE from 2003 and Senior Member form February 2019.

In 2016 he was awarded by the Prize of National University in area of Technological Innovation and Industrial Design.

  • The interests of Dr. Kussul include micromechanics, mechanical design, mecatronics, control systems, neuronal networks and artificial intelligence.

The Dr. Kussul´s  lines of investigation during 1998-2021 are:

  • Investigation and development of micromechanical equipment and micromanipulators.
  • Investigation of control systems for micromechanical equipment.
  • Solar concentrators with flat triangular mirrors.
  • Automatization of manufacture and assembly of solar concentrators.
  • Investigation and development of algorithms, neural networks and neural classifiers for image recognition.
  • Investigation of genetic algorithms and other methods of artificial intelligence.
