Microwave Photonics

Raúl Ruvalcaba-Morales

He studied Mechanical Electrical Engineering with a specialty in Electronics and a Master’s Degree in Engineering, in the Instrumentation area, at the Faculty of Engineering, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

He has the following academic appointments at UNAM:

Titular Academic Technician Titular “B” of T.C. Definitively by ICAT.

Professor of Subject “A” by the Faculty of Engineering.

He is PRIDE level “C”.

From 2004 to date, his main activity is focused on the design and development of electronic and mechanical systems to support research work in the field of Microwave Photonics and the development of microcircuits using optical microlithography techniques.

From 2002 to 2004, he carried out academic activities at Universum, Science Museum of the UNAM, developing electronic systems for the dissemination of science.

From 1986 to 2002 he carried out academic activities at the Instrument Center (CI) of the UNAM, providing maintenance services to electronic equipment used for research, teaching and cultural dissemination at the same time that he dedicated himself to the development of electronic systems in those same areas.

To date, he has presented 34 papers in different National and International Congresses.

In 2002 he was Head of the Department of Engineering of the DGDC-UNAM.

From 1990 to 2001 he was Section Chief of the following areas of the Instrument Center: Electronic Maintenance; Design Engineering Laboratory; Internal Unit for Maintenance, Design and Electronic Development; Maintenance Engineering Laboratory.

As for human resources training, he teaches at the Faculty of Engineering of the UNAM, from the half 99-1 up to today.

Since 1988, he has participated as a tutor in the Professional Practices and Social Service modalities.

From 1993 to date, he has participated as a synodal of Professional Examination at the undergraduate level on 25 occasions.

To date, he has directed and registered 11 undergraduate theses, of which 7 are completed.

He has participated in the following ICAT collegiate bodies: Subcommittee on internal scholarships; Internal Council, Board of Directors of the College of Academic Staff.

He is currently an active member of the Academy of Electronic Devices of the Faculty of Engineering, UNAM.
