Dr América R. Vázquez Olmos is a Full Time “A” Researcher, PRIDE “C”, and she is National Researcher, level 2. She belongs to Hybrid Systems and Nanospectroscopy academic group, of the Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (IAST) at the UNAM.
She studied a bachelor’s in chemistry, a Master´s degree and a Doctor´s degree at the Chemistry faculty at the UNAM. Later, she carried out a postdoctoral stay from 1999 to 2001 in the Instrument Center today (IAST), in the Research group of Dr José Manuel Saniger Blesa, developing the research topic: “Dendrimer-metallic and semiconductor nanoparticle associations. Colloidal dispersions and thin films”.
Dr Vázquez-Olmos has carried out research stays at the University of Barcelona, in the molecular magnetism group, with Dr Joan Ribas Gispert and at the University of Szeged, Hungary, at the Colloidal Chemistry and Nanostructured Materials group, with Dr Imre Dékány.
She was awarded in 2017, with the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz distinction.
