Hybrid Systems and Nanospectroscopy

Omar G. Morales-Saavedra

Dr. Morales-Saavedra studied Physics at the National University of México UNAM (1995) and obtained his M.Sc. degree in Optics at CICESE (1997), and a Ph.D. / Dr. Rer. Nat. at the Institute of Optics and Atomic Physics of the TU-Berlin in Germany (2002).

He has published around 70 scientific papers in indexed journals with work in the areas of materials science, spectroscopy, and nonlinear optical effects in advanced materials such as liquid crystals, polymers, hybrid glassy structures, carbon derived materials, and quantum dots, among others. His work has been cited more than 500 times by other authors.

Dr. Morales-Saavedra has directed several thesis works including doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate students. He has taught courses at undergraduate level for the Physics degree and at postgraduate level in the Physical Sciences, Chemistry, and Electrical Engineering programs, all at UNAM.
