Optical Metrology

Manuel Campos-García

Manuel Campos-Garcia is a researcher in the Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), México. He has a teaching experience of 25 years in the Faculty of Sciences of the UNAM. He received his BS degree in physics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 1995. He received his MS degree and Ph.D. degree in Physics, respectively, in 1999 and 2005, both from the UNAM. He is a national researcher for the National System of Researches, Mexico. He held a postdoctoral position at the National Institute of Optical and Electronic Astrophysics (INAOE) in 2009-2010. His research interests include optical metrology and instrumentation.

  • Optical testing of aspherical and free-form surfaces with null screens.

  • Design and characterization of solar concentrators.

  • Development of prototypes for corneal topography based on the conical null screen (fixed and mobile).

  • Curvature sensor based on the Intensity transport equation.

  • Development of prototypes for low power phototherapy.

  • Instrumentation of a coherent light system for evaluating the shape of the human cornea.
