The University Laboratory for Spectroscopic Characterization (LUCE) operates under a scheme of laboratory open to the academic community of UNAM and other higher education institutions and research centers in Mexico, as well as to the Mexican industry and the various public entities interested in the use of LUCE’s infrastructure.

OBJECTIVES

To support R & D projects performed by universities, centers and national research institutes, as well as public institutions of the federal administration or state and the industrial sector.

To support the training of professionals, at the undergraduate and graduate level, through the organization of seminars on the fundamentals of optical spectroscopy for the characterization of materials, facilitating the use of the equipment of LUCE for the development of terminal projects and/or graduate or postgraduate thesis.

To train high school to postgraduate professors through specialized courses on the basic principles and applications of the equipment of the laboratory.

To provide highly specialized services to the industry in the area of spectroscopic characterization of materials.
